The Story Behind Our Name

For centuries, people believed fate was ever turning, like Fortuna’s great wheel, lifting some to prosperity while casting others into misfortune. Yet rulers sought to influence their place upon it: pharaohs wore golden amulets, Roman emperors honoured Fortuna with treasures, and medieval kings crowned themselves in gold silver and diamonds.

Across cultures, precious metals and diamonds symbolised shields against misfortune. Their incorruptible and eternal nature was believed to pass on to those possessing them, safeguarding their destiny and their loved ones against the turns of this wheel.

That pursuit lives on in Royal Rolling: the belief that royalty could roll Fortuna’s wheel toward good fortune by using gold silver and diamonds as talismans of divine protection. Founder

Royal Rolling was founded by Levy Robertson, born and raised in Bergen, North Holland a place long celebrated as the artist’s village. Bergen is home to the famous Bergense School, with artists such as Charley Toorop and Leo Gestel leaving their mark on Dutch art history.

Growing up in this creative environment, Levy was inspired to unite art, history, and luxury into something truly unique. What began as an experiment with 24K gold leaf evolved into a vision: to create art pieces that bring to life a royal way of living, echoing the ancient myths where gold, silver and diamonds were seen as a symbol of fortune and destiny.
